And then there were….four

Walter: our brave knight, biggest hug, silliest laugh…and now our BIG BROTHER.

Our life has been a practice in patience and prayer lately, and believe me when I tell you that for this child we have prayed, and prayed, and prayed some more.  Through the miracle of modern medicine we have Wally healthy and here with us today, and it is thanks to that same miracle (of medicine, and infertility treatment) that we will get to welcome our second child in late January or early February of 2017.

God’s gift of life is not one we take lightly or for granted, and we have the deepest gratitude to those family (my parents, in particular) and friends, who helped us through and along this road. For them and for Baby K #2, thanks be to God.

While on the matter of thanks – it was such a joy filled evening taking these family photos with Alexander and Hanna of First and Orange Photography. They were a treat to work with, and are seriously as patient (with an active toddler, and two silly parents) as they are talented. Alexander and I were part of the same “squad” at the U.S. Air Force Academy Summer Seminar “way back when” in 2009, and many life changes and years later, we reconnected through his awesome photography business that he runs with his girlfriend, Hanna. Small world. So, if you’re in the San Diego area and in need of photographers…check them out, you’ll be glad you did.

Plus, it was pretty wonderful to be taking family photos outdoors on cool Southern California evening, rather than a CHLA cardiac hospital room, which seems to be where most of our family photos have originated. See a common theme here? Thanks, gratitude…and lots of it.

I imagine we’ll have an even tougher time keeping up with two, than we do one.

Still….we can’t wait.

Until next time. Our love,

Dan, Frances, Walter, and Baby K #2
